My favorite fan interview so far!! This girl is awesome! Its amazing to come across a young dedicated new fan! It proves that Oasis is everlasting. Thank you Eva!

3. How did you get into Oasis?
To make a long story short, I got into them through knowing Blur. I fell in love with Roll With It (irony at its best!), and Noel was really the one who convinced me that this was the band that would change my life forever. Haha. He is The Chief after all.

4. What is it like being such a young fan of the band?
I enjoy every minute of it. Oasis have been with me throughout all my high school years, through the good and bad times, and I can say it's been an absolute pleasure. I can't wait to make more memories as I go into my later years. I wish sometimes though I knew about them earlier or were born in a different year to have known them for longer. I'd love to have experienced that rush in the 90s!

5. How is Oasis/Beady Eye/Noel Gallagher incorporated into your everyday life?
They are an obsession for me. I can't live a day without listening to their music -- at least one song! Nor can I live a day without even thinking about them. They are a part of me that I live with everyday through the internet and the real world. I can't go a day without going on the internet to see what they're up to either! I also like photography, drawing, making graphics, and sometimes writing songs so they are definitely in those artistic aspects of my life. Right now, I'm getting ready to go to art school soon so they will definitely be a part of my projects in the future somehow. In fact, a majority of my portfolio that got me into art school is inspired by their music and/or is of the Gallagher brothers funny enough! In general, I pretty much incorporate them in any aspect I possibly can in my life. School even…I wrote a Valentine's Day letter once to Noel for French class! I laugh back a lot at the crazy things I've done!

6. What is your favorite Oasis album?

I'd like to say Definitely Maybe, because it will always be a classic to me but if I were to be honest I could not even choose. All of the albums have very special meanings to me. In the end, I think I'd choose Don't Believe The Truth as it was the first album I ever heard of theirs. It has a lot of special meaning to me of how that album came about in my life.

7. Have you ever been to an Oasis gig? What was it like for you? If not how about Beady Eye?
Yes, I have. Only once sadly, but luckily right before they broke up! It was as you would expect…thrilling and emotional for me, but I only wished some other personal problems were not occurring at the time so that I could have enjoyed it tiny bit more. I've seen Beady Eye once this summer. Brilliant experience.

8. What do you think of Beady Eye?
I honestly think they should get better feedback than what most people say about them. They are brilliant songwriters, underrated even to me, and they do write good songs. I love them. I think people will see their magic as they start to form as their own identity and not just "Liam's shite band without Noel." I believe in them.

9. What do you expect from Noel's solo stuff?
I expect it to be beautiful as usual with whatever he does in music. :)

10. Well Oasis ever reform in you opinion?

Every Oasis fan…just about every fan I know, deep inside their heart, wants them to reunite and wants to think they will. I think eventually they will. I made an Oasis reunion tour poster which was a joke to me, but who knows if that joke will be a reality in the future. I'd laugh.

11. Do you own a lot of Oasis stuff? What is your favorite?
I'm a collector sort of, but my collection isn't as big as you'd think it'd be. I love to collect their singles, and hopefully I'll complete my collection soon. I have shirts and posters and other stuff too. My favorite though would have to be the Definitely Maybe cassette that I wear around my neck as a necklace from time to time. (Chris Sharrock approved of it when I met him so that makes it even more easy to choose it as my favorite!)

12. What level has your Oasis fandom gone too?

It hasn't dropped since day one honestly. Hahahaha. It has wavered over the years but only due to personal conflicts, but in general I'm as mad fer it as they come! I bake cupcakes for Noel's birthday every year, and I celebrate the holidays in an Oasisy way sometimes. I think I even thought of dressing up as Liam for Halloween one year. Other than celebrations, I pretty much have incorporated them into my life in any way that I possibly could! I even got an Oasis logo ice sculpture done for my sweet 16! I know that I'm pretty out there! Once they become pretty much the center of your life, you have had to gone so far!

13. What do you friends and family think of your love for the band?
They support and accept it lovingly, but I know a few of them think I'm insane at times. Hahaha. Especially my mam, but she puts up with it and I really owe her a lot of respect for that. (Thank you so much for driving me through that blizzard to see the band, and taking photos of me with some of the BDI guys!)

14. How did you feel the day Oasis broke up?
I had just come back from a vacation so it's not the news you would want to hear after relaxing for about a week. I just came back home and my favorite band just broke up. I leave the internet for about a week and they already broke up!? I felt like it could have been the end of the world. Horrible times.

15. If you could be at one past Oasis gig which would it be and what song would you look forward most too?
That's a hard question, but I would choose the Barrowlands gig for its amazing set list of songs. It has just about everything in there! I'd look forward to hearing Live Forever the most. It's my favorite song of all time. I would have loved to hear Live Forever being played live before they broke up, and that is in the set list so it's pretty much perfect to me. Also, watching it on YouTube…the crowd looks in top form. Johnny Marr is another hero of mine, so him being at the gig made it even more amazing. I really wish I had been there.

The OFG Tour Journal: Philly, the final show

I am convinced I have guardian angel that likes Oasis/Beady Eye/Liam because I am shockingly lucky at Oasis/Beady Eye gigs. Sooo the story is that we arrived on South Street in Philly about 5pm, expecting a line. Now I have said this before, I am not greedy, four gigs practically up Liam's nose is plenty for me, I was willing to sit in the balcony for this one, but no that "guardian angel" wasn't satisfied with that. So when we arrived and found no one but a guy telling us exactly where to sit, we were in shock. A bit of back story, we (Brian & I) are not big fans of the city of Philadelphia, never mind our hatred for their baseball team, we have never had a good concert experience there and were not expecting a lot, luckily this gig redeemed Philly for us.

Anyways we have these VIP FAST LANE tickets, no big deal, I brought them for 5 bucks not expecting to be the FIRST on line and the FIRST into the bloody building! Yea I know, I would hate me too, but its true! We do have to wait for about 3 hours in a small alley, but we got to talk to again a great group of fans and then guess who pulled up on MOTORCYCLES?! ANDY & GEM! We spotted them across the street and waved and they waved back, they were SUPER nice to the fans that jogged across the street and signed and took photos with them. It was great to see :)

But almost instantly I was running (alright speed walking) behind a security guy with his arms out shouting "Stay behind me!" down South Street! Even more instantly I was on the bar again, in the same spot, "Wooing" to myself much to the sure-grin of the a security guy stage in the dark in front of the stage! It was again an amazing crowd, not too much pushing around me though later I heard it was pretty rough in front of Liam.. a few highlights...

-After a baseball hat was given to Liam, he dedicated a song to "All the baseball people" lol

-Liam giving his mic away to a girl in the front row.

-The scream was back in Wigwam. (and yes it was dedicated to all the cowboys)

-Liam coming over to Brian and I shaking our hands at the end of the gig!

-Brian telling Liam his voice was amazing and Liam replying cheekily "Do you want to sing?" (Yes Liam, we know you can't take a compliment, but you DID sound AMAZING!!).

It was a great gig, and seriously this whole tour has been amazing. I still can't believe I saw 5 gigs in 7 days! It was redeeming, it renewed everything I ever loved about Liam Gallagher and gives me a fantastic feeling about loving Beady Eye so much, its all so worth it.

The best part is that, at least in America and Canada all the "Wonderwall" fair weather fans are gone, and the hard cores remain. It was amazing to talk to all these great people, people who know the songs, actually care about the band, and continued to buy records AFTER Morning Glory. We had a phenomenal time, I cannot believe how many people read my blog!

I just want to thank all the wonderful people we met this short but sweet tour! Thank you to Chicago fans, Jay, Parker & friends, our early/stake out partner in Toronto Pina, Mike, my awesome bodyguard in Toronto, "Two of a Kind" Kim & Denise in NYC & Philly, Lisa, my Letterman partner in crime (and future adventures!) and her wonderful Eddie-ful husband Justin, a fellow tourer Aunni, the amazing guys from Supersonic (& your lovely wives!). Rick & all they lovely top of the liners in Philly, my Ally girl, who I did not see but Liam did in NYC!! Barbara, Jacque! Pablo & Jim, everyone who said hi in line for merchandise, on the street and after the gigs, you all the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will see you all in November !

Lastly thank you to the band, Liam, Gem, Andy, Chris, & Jeff, you were amazing!! Made our summer and we swear were not as crazy as you may think!! :) Rock on my friends!

The OFG Tour Journal: Webster Hall, NYC baby

I know, sooo behind!! It's just been madness all week and if I haven't mentioned it before I am kinda 18 weeks preggers! :) Anyways Webster Hall was a bit of weird one for me, no waiting on line in the pouring rain, THANK GOD, (I think we have done our fair share of waiting this tour), we got in early. With a bit of luck and a bit of knowing the right people, we got into the venue about 15 minutes early. It was VERY strange being on the other side, seeing the fans faces pressed up against the door (two fans, which for the life of me I CANNOT remember their names, please forgive me! Waited online since 7:30am!), I could hear them singing The Roller just outside the door. In many ways I felt like a cheat, but in ONE other I was tired old pregnant lady who got in at 2am the night before :).

So again we got our place on the bar, and boy the crowd was AMAZING again. I haven't experienced anything like it, since oh my gosh 2000 maybe? They up and psyched for it. Here are a few highlights....

Then I got to check off something on my bucket list, we got backstage! Liam unfortunately zipped through the area like a hurricane with wife & child in toe and did not stop for anyone... but these guys were up for a chat and a photo...

Yeaaaa it was a good night :) We arrived home again very late but happy little Oas-aaa um Beady Eye fans! :D

OFG Tour Journal: Beady Eye @ Letterman

I am behind I know, I have a cold and a bit of a fever...yea I am not meant for touring! Anyways its one week out my life, I can handle it! This week has been AMAZING, I have no words really, but I will try.

So Brian and I arrived at Letterman greeted by a mass of Justin Beider fans, yes I witnessed Beider fever, sadly this is not 1996 anymore and the crowd dwindled and dwindled until these guys came out.....

They were incredibly nice and chatted with us for a few minutes. Then sadly Brian had to leave, he did not come to Letterman with me (darn you Eddie Vedder!) but my friend Lisa did! So we went to wait on line, there was a mass of people already there, but I was quite satisfied in sitting where ever they put me, I had seen this band up close twice, I am not greedy.

So we sat about 7-8 rows from the stage when a women comes up to Lisa and goes "I saw your bag (a red Oasis bag!), do you want better seats?" Of course we followed her like eager puppies and she seats us in the 2nd row right in front of Liam's mic, DEAD center!! Of course we screeched a little together before they led Nicole Appleton & a certain little boy sit in front of us! It was amazing, we chatted with Nicole for a few minutes (SHE IS SO NICE! Don't let any one tell you different) and quickly the band came out on stage! It was amazing, they were so close and the front row did not stand up so it was like we were front row! I took off my heels about 3 songs in, terrified I would fall forward on a certain little boy and Liam would come leaping off the stage at me! Luckily none of that happened and the show was amazing.

The OFG Tour Journal: Toronto Madness (written yesterday)

I know I am about a day late, but wow how do bands do it? Touring is exhausting! Anyways I am back home, some what rested and off later to get my Letterman tickets to see the private gig at the Ed Sullivan theater! Anyways lets get to the review.....

So we arrive at the venue at 10:30am, yes you read that right, we were bored and knew we wouldn't be happy out sightseeing, wondering if a massive line had started, so off we went with our tent chairs and were proudly the first in line..

It wasn't until about 3pm the line really started to get bigger.

Everyone around us was super nice....including these guys!

Oasis Tribute Band Supersonic! You might remember I did a interview with them here. Truly the nicest guys you want to meet... Thanks sooo much for taking a photo with me!

Anyways we finally get in and take our rightful places in the bar. Now I thought this crowd would be a lot rowdier then the Chicago crowd, but know they were pleasantly calm, which made life a little easier for us, no elbows in the head. As for Beady Eye, they again were spot on, if anyone ever claims to you that Liam's voice is gone, you have my permission to call them a LIAR. He was spot on, the sound was MUCH better then the Chicago gig, and the band just seemed to be having a good time. A few highlights..

-Liam seems to always tell the same jokes like "Are there any Indians in the house? Or maybe cowboys?" at the beginning of Wigwam, or dedicating For Anyone to all the beautiful girls

-I don't think Andy Bell has sweat glands, mean while Gem looks like someone threw water on him:)

-Bring the Light my new favorite live.

-I had joked before the gig to Brian that sweaty towels were the new tambourines, and if I got one how would I display it. Hence after Bring the Light (and me just having a grand ole time) Liam walks over to the stage in front of me and with the a sweaty towel wrap around his hand, leans down and makes me pull it off his hand. I kid you not, I now own my own personal Liam Gallagher sweaty towel :D Aaaa love that guy :)

-Boy, Canadians are nice :)

We left the gig so tired only to find out Gem and Andy attended the after party :( Still it was a great gig and a great day all and all. Beady Eye is amazing :)

Oh my gosh I am tired, yesterday was nothing short of amazing. I am actually still in Toronto, waiting for my flight back home, I figured would give you a bit of an update and later tonight a full review! A few highlights we got there at 10:30am (first on line!)! Got to meet the Oasis tribute band Supersonic (SOOOOO NICE!) and well you know how sweaty towels are the new tambourines? Well guess who was given one from the man himself last night?!? hehehe more later :D

OFG Tour Journal: The Whole Chicago Tale Part 2

Hey I am back ten hours later I am here in Toronto. Awesome drive but I will get to the good stuff! First off I got a question from a reader about the setlist... I think this will answer your question...

Gem setlist!

Second off can I just tell you how great this crowd was??? Singing, chanting, just plain ole fantastic fans, they were hardcore and ready to rock n roll. Brian and I will right there on the bar between Liam and Gem, and got to see everything close up and it was awesome. From start to finish Beady Eye was on it, a few of my favorites were Millionaire, Two of a Kind, Man of Misery, WigWam and Sons of the Stage. Liam voice was on, at the beginning his mic seemed a bit loud and he actually made the motion to turn it DOWN, you really could not hear Gem or Andy.

Liam told the crowd it was good to be back, as well as telling the mostly American crowd in reference to baseball that the ball was supposed to be on the ground (the was a Chicago Cubs game going on right across the street, during sound check!). Before the encore Liam told the crowd that "You've been the bollocks" and honestly from where I was standing he meant it.

It was a hot, sweaty, down in the dirt rock n roll show and as I hear a fan say after the show "I was weary of the fact they don't move, but man they don't have too, their fuckin loud!" All and all an amazing way to start this mini North American tour.

OFG Tour Journal: The Whole Chicago Tale

Alright its 9am here in Chicago and I am clear head, well rested and a bit sore but very happy :) Yesterday was a world wind of planes, lines and madness. I will start at you beginning .... we woke around 6am to catch our 9:15 flight out of New York.

We touched down a 30 minutes early, which is completely amazing for American Airlines, and soon grabbed our rental car and headed to drive past the venue. I had convinced myself that no one would be there and I was just being paranoid, this is America after all right? WRONG... there were about 6 people on line by then, around 12pm, so we finally found a parking spot (mine you there was Chicago Cubs game going on around the corner and parking was rough) and got on line (or queued up) at roughly 12pm. Behind us the line started to form.
To my happy suprise this people were UP FOR IT! Real fans... coming from all corners of America, out to cheer on 3/4s of the band they loved. The on the line was four guys from Indianapolis, who had left there home for as one put it "Life changing concert" and arrived on the line at 9am.

Brian and I chatted with all the great people around is FOR HOURS. Until a wonderful little thing happen.... BEADY EYE arrived!! They had to walk in the front doors and were super nice to all the fans waiting outside...

OFG Tour Journal Entry 3: Exhaustion & Madness in Chicago

First holy crap I am tired :) We took at 9:15am flight to Chicago and basically went from the plane to the venue! No stopping, no hotel, just to the venue and now at 12am we are finally in the hotel. So I am beat and can barely type...but I didn't want to leave you all hanging...so here is a bit of eye candy from tonight!

OFG Tour Journal Entry 2: Bags are Packed!

Alrignt two days away from the Chicago gig, and I think I have everything under control, the only thing bugging me is what time should I be at the Letterman gig, since the contest ends tomorrow, I am hoping that info will come out soon.

I have been living in a state of constant nervous excitement, I still cannot believe I am going to all these gigs, none the less one is TWO DAYS AWAY! Blows my mind. I truly won't believe it until I am standing in the Metro minutes before they come on. I don't know why I am always so nervous before the first gig, it really happens every time, part of me is wishing I was in that car driving to Toronto already ! I know, what a way to live your life! With Oasis gone, I seriously feel so blessed to have Beady Eye and eventually Noel out on tour, so I am not going to take this trip for granted, I know how lucky I am to be able to do this and truly I am going to suck the marrow out of the whole thing! Having a love like this, being able to enjoy a band like we all do is something really special, tons of people do not have anything like it, and really don't even know there missing out! This is why I save, plan and pack and get pre gig haircuts, its all very worth it.

Anyways speaking of pre-gig haircuts I got one yesterday morning and have yet to post a photo. I tried last night but hated all the photos, I looked like a tired mama of 19 month old (which I am) instead of a fabulous blogger (which I am too!), so later today I am hoping to post a photo in case you would like to say hi at any of the gigs.

Alright totally an unofficial tour journal entry, but I am just bursting with excitement. I have my bags almost packed and its only Tuesday! Anyways I figured I would give a brief itinerary of my trip and what to expect from the journal...

Information Sunday: The Ed Sullivan Theater

Since Beady Eye will be playing a private gig there on the 21st, here is some history about the place.

The Ed Sullivan Theater, located at 1697-1699 Broadway between West 53rd and West 54th, in Manhattan,is a venerable radio and television studio in New York City. The 1200-seat theater — of which 400 seats are used for TV audiences — has been used as a venue for live and taped CBS broadcasts since 1936.

It is best known as the longtime home of The Ed Sullivan Show and the site of the first U.S. Beatles performance. Since 1993, it has been the home of the Late Show with David Letterman and is on the list of National Register of Historic Places. The interior has been designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.

First 66 yearsThe 13-story, brown brick and terra cotta office building with a ground-floor theater was designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp. It was built by Arthur Hammerstein between 1925 and 1927, and was named Hammerstein's Theater after his father, Oscar Hammerstein I.The original neo-Gothic interior contained pointed-arch stained-glass windows with scenes from the elder Hammerstein's operas; during a 1993 renovation, these windows were removed and stored by CBS in an arrangement with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission Its first production was the three-hour musical Golden Dawn, the second male lead of which was Cary Grant, then still using his birth name, Archie Leach. Arthur Hammerstein went bankrupt in 1931, and lost ownership of the building.

It later went by the name Manhattan Theater, Billy Rose's Music Hall, and the Manhattan once again. In the 1930s, it became a nightclub.[citation needed] After CBS obtained a long-term lease on the property, the radio network began broadcasting from there in 1936, moving in broadcast facilities it had leased at NBC Studios in Radio City. Architect Williams Lescaze renovated the interior, keeping nearly all of the Krapp design but covering many walls with smooth white panels, his work earning praise from the magazine Architectural Forum. The debut broadcast was the Major Bowes Amateur Hour. The theater had various names during the network's tenancy, including Radio Theater #3 and the CBS Radio Playhouse. It was converted for television in 1950, when it became CBS-TV Studio 50.

Newspaper columnist and impresario Ed Sullivan, who had started hosting his variety show Toast of the Town, soon renamed The Ed Sullivan Show, from the Maxine Elliott Theatre (CBS Studio 51) on West 39th Street in 1948, moved to Studio 50 a few years later. The theater was renamed for Sullivan at the beginning of the 1967-68 season, though it is still TV Studio 50 in CBS' numerical list of New York television facilities.

In the 1960s, Studio 50 was one of CBS' busiest stages not only for Sullivan's program but also for The Honeymooners and The Merv Griffin Show, as well as several game shows. In 1965, Studio 50 was converted to color, and the first color episode of The Ed Sullivan Show originated from the theater on October 31, 1965. (The program originated from CBS Television City in color for the previous six weeks while the color equipment was installed. One earlier color episode of the program originated from Studio 72 at Broadway and 81st on August 22, 1954) What's My Line?, To Tell the Truth and Password also called the studio home after CBS began broadcasting regularly in color; previously, they had been taped around the corner at CBS-TV Studio 52, which later became the disco Studio 54. The first episode of regular color telecasts of What's My Line? was broadcast live on September 11, 1966. Line and Truth remained at Studio 50 even after they moved from CBS to first-run syndication in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The programs eventually moved to NBC's Radio City Studios at Rockefeller Center.

The Ed Sullivan Theater was also the first home for The $10,000 Pyramid, with its huge end-game board set at the rear of the stage, in 1973. Other short-lived game shows produced at the Ed included Musical Chairs with singer Adam Wade (1975), Shoot For The Stars with Geoff Edwards (1977) (which was an NBC show), and Pass the Buck with Bill Cullen (1978).

The CBS lease on the building expired in 1981 and, now a Reeves Entertainment teletape facility, it hosted the sitcom Kate & Allie, which ran from 1984 to 1989 (as it happened, on CBS). In 1990 David Niles/1125 Productions signed onto the lease, with the theater to house his HDTV studio and new Broadway show Dreamtime. During Dreamtime's successful run, CBS bought the building from Winthrop Financial Associates of Boston. Niles was given four weeks to vacate. Due to the economics of moving the show and the lack of a comparable available Broadway theater, Dreamtime closed. The quick sale and vacancy of the building earned the realtor the Henry Hart Rice Achievement Award for the Most Ingenious Deal of the Year for 1993.

The Late Show
When David Letterman switched networks from NBC to CBS, CBS bought the theater in February 1993 for $4 million from Winthrop Financial Associates of Boston. The theater was reconfigured into a 400-seat studio, with lighting and sound adjustments. The architectural firm that did the work, Polshek Partnership, notes on its web site that "to preserve the architectural integrity of the landmark, all interventions are reversible."

In 2005, it took nearly four months to retrofit the theater with the cabling and equipment necessary to broadcast high definition television.

Near the beginning of the first Letterman show in the fall of 1993, a quick reference was made to Sullivan's legacy, by splicing together several short clips of Sullivan introducing various acts, including, presumably, the singing group The Lettermen. This resulted in a fake clip of Sullivan saying, "And now, here on our stage... David... Letterman!" Letterman also joked that his crew opened an old closet in the theater which contained a 45-year old woman screaming, "Ringo!"

Other uses
The Ed Sullivan Theater also serves as the home of the Survivor reunion at the conclusion of each even numbered season beginning with season six (The Amazon). The theater also hosted marquee-top concerts by a few artists, including Phish in 2004, and Sir Paul McCartney in 2009. On June 22, 2010, the theater's roof served as the site of a concert featuring Eminem and Jay-Z. - Wikipedia

Well today's reports are stating that Noel's new single is called "The Death of You and Me", which sounds so ultimately tragic, this Oasis fan cannot stand it. Seriously Noel?? Just put a stake through my heart and call me dead, because the "death" of Oasis has become a Shakespearean-like tragedy. The fight in Paris, the symbolism of the smashing of the guitars ( I cried when I saw this), the dramatic Good Bye note, the war of words, that remains one sided at the moment, THE MORNING SON, the calling together by their own mother, the drunken invite to a wedding and now a song that is called "THE DEATH OF YOU AND ME"??? Again shoot me in the heart, nothing would shock me now, Liam showing up at Noel's wedding sobbing wouldn't, nor would several years of songs that are "not about each other, but you just know they are".

Wow... its like a love story, not a romantic one, but a love story in itself. Through the years and one the things the made the Gallagher brothers so appealing was no matter all the fighting, and swings of the cricket bat, the brotherly love was always there. From my view, I never got a real feeling of hate from them, even if they said they hated one other, the was always a smirk, or a twinkle in their eyes that you just knew they weren't telling the truth.

All and all what I have gathered from these pass Oasis-less years, the fight in Paris comes down to two emotional people, passionate about what they do, clashing because they loved it THAT much. When you have something that good, that electric, eventually its going to explode and burn out, which ultimately it did.

I think though at the moment, you have two hurt people, two hurt brothers, and I am sure both have some sort of hole in their hearts about it. I hope they work it out, and I am not talking about getting Oasis back together, because I don't see that happening anytime soon, just brothers, just be brothers again and think it would help a lot.

If "The Death of You and Me" is anything like the title sounds, and everything remains as it is, there will be a lot of Oasis fans sobbing over their Ipods

December 1996: Get Silver box set for Christmas, mind blow by b-sides

January 1997: Buy first Q with Oasis on Cover.

Fly to England. Cry when the plane touches down in Manchester. See Oasis at Manchester City Stadium. One the best moments of my life. Cry.

Get Tickets to Terminal 5 gig, only to have it canceled due to ASSHOLE (see above).

December 2008: Travel to Chicago, Detroit, NYC, Camden and Fairfax to see Oasis.

Fairfax: Unknowingly witness LAST Oasis show I would ever see. CRY.

February 2009: Become pregnant, nickname baby "Baby Champagne Supernova".

August 2009: Oasis break up. I cry for one straight week.

Noel Gallagher and the Secret Album

For nearly six years or more we have known Noel would make a solo record. Its nothing new, so why all the secrecy around it? Its a little worrying when Miles Kane is on the outs with Noel for mentioning he was on Noel's new album. Has Noel become a bit of diva? I know, God forgive me for calling Noel Gallagher a diva, but what the hell? Why so quiet? Why was it a big mystery Noel was in LA for month?

The optimist in me thinks "Well he's sitting on something FANTASTIC" and he's just waiting for the right time. The other part, the less then optimist thinks maybe the rumors about the record company not liking it are true. Is it a gem? Or regurgitated psychedelia? Personally a nice acoustic album would satisfy me, but I digress.

JUST TELL US! It breaks my heart to think Noel has fallen out of touch with common people, and a lot of reports state just that. In fact a lot of Beady Eye's lyrics give off the same feeling. Could flowers in the tour bus just be the start? It disturbs me greatly. Its not like Noel Gallagher to be so bloody quiet.

Yes its that time again, OFG song analysis! I was listening to this song yesterday in the car, thinking "Wow this song really reminds me of Liam" and since he wrote it, could he have written about himself? From what we know about Liam, yes. yes he could have!

Now this could be about anyone. But it since Liam wrote it, it makes me think he's talking to himself. Could even "always up for Liam", get a bit down? He's only human.

Again could the man be talking to himself? He does tend to go off on things that you know, are completely wrong and you know he knows he's wrong, just too stubborn to admit it.

Now he's really talking about himself. The press, the fans, think they know who Liam Gallagher really is, truth no one outside his inner circle really knows. Could this be a statement about that? Though the line "I”ll see you off you and your crowd" makes me think of Noel. Is Noel the one who thinks he's got Liam all worked out?

Tricky Liam, being all poetic. I feel like he is inviting everyone in, to come see where he is now. I think this really personifies the whole album. Its Liam's "Coming Out" album (no not like that!). He is presenting himself to the world without his brother.

AMAZING Guide to Noel's Gear (I DID NOT WRITE THIS!)

I found this randomly on www.dolphinmusic.co.uk it was so good I had to post it! REMEMBER I DID NOT WRITE THIS!

Considering that Oasis are one of the biggest bands ever, and Noel such an influential guitarist, who inspired many kids to pick up an electric guitar since the band released its debut single "Supersonic", it's quite surprising that info about Noel Gallagher's gear is so sketchy and incomplete – no extensive gear interviews, no clear photographs of his pedalboard, etc...so it was about time we had a good look into what he's been using over the years!

The job is not made any easier by the fact that Noel is a true “gearhead”. He collects guitars, amps and fx pedals and it's quite difficult to find out what he was using at any given time – his setup changed several times, and there might be some pedals listed here, for instance, that he may or may not have used live but maybe just in records.

But, all in all, this guide is definitely (maybe) quite accurate still, so enjoy!

Early Years - 1994:

If you want to have a similar setup to his early, pre- Definitely Maybe days, here's what we recommend:

Vintage V100 Cherry Sunburst
Marshall MG15FX or Marshall MG50FX combo
Vox AC-30, or Vox AC-15
Boss RE-20 Space Echo pedal

Gear tip: the Vintage V100, is as good as the Standard Epiphone Les Paul, and made in the same factory! The Vintage Lemon Drop is probably BETTER than any Epiphone...faithful replica of Peter Green's guitar. Green is one of Noel Gallagher favorite guitarists.

Pedal-wise, a trademark Noel Gallagher trick is to add delay on some guitar solos. So...get a delay pedal, it's essential!

Like many skint, up-and-coming musicians who wanted to get some good affordable gear, his main guitar in the early years before the release of "Supersonic" was an Epiphone, the Les Paul Standard model, in cherry Sunburst. It might be the same one you see on the UK version of the "Supersonic" video.

Ampwise, Noel had a quite interesting setup:

A Roland Space Echo RE-201 into a small Marshall Solid-State Combo and then into a Vox AC-30, as the photograph below, taken in January 1994 shows:

Noel loved, at the time, the crunchy sound of a good Marshall amp distortion, so he plugged it into the clean channel of a Vox AC-30...possibly a late 70s version with no reverb.

The Space Echo was probably used for the reverb and nice compression sound. Though, if he wasn't using a Boss DD-3 at the time, then maybe the delay sounds you hear in tracks such as "Columbia" are the Space Echo.

In the first Oasis TV appearance, playing "Supersonic" (available on the Definitely Maybe DVD) Noel still had the Space Echo and Marshall, but the Vox AC-30 gave way to the WEM Dominator 25 watt tube Amp.

We have no info whether that setup was used in the studio for the "Definitely Maybe" sessions, but his live sound around this era (and then throughout the 'Definitely Maybe' promotional gigs) was great:

Really loud and distorted, a true "wall of noise" that was somewhere between the shoegaze noise Noel must've listened to a lot (and which was popular during the early 90's) and the more classic rock sound he adopted later.

If you want to have a similar setup to his Definitely Maybe tour days, but you're on a budget, here's what we recommend:

Tanglewood TSB59 ebony
Marshall MG100HFX Head
Vox V847 Wah
Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer (classic! For a cheap alternative, try the TS-7 Tubescreamer - very good!)
Boss DD-3 Delay

Noel with Les Paul and old WEM amp

After Definitely Maybe was released, Noel may have still kept the Epiphone Les Paul for a while, but he quickly moved to Gibson ones:

He could be seen using a Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul (with open coil bridge pickup), and a black Gibson Les Paul Custom (first US tour, December UK gigs) which gained an "Oasis" sticker somewhere along the way.

And, of course, we can't forget the beautiful late 70's Epiphone Rivieras, in dark brown/ (really deep) Wine Red.

The late 70's Epiphone Riviera that Noel and Bonehead used to play are quite different than the other Riviera models made before and since: they have humbuckers and stoptail bridges.

The original 60's Rivieras (and the ones made up until recently) had frequensator tailpiece and mini-humbuckers. The Epiphone Riviera made in the early 90s are a mix of both: they had proper humbuckers but also the frequensator tailpiece.

Those late Epiphone Rivieras that Noel used are called MIJ (or Matsumoko) Rivieras, made in Japan from around 1978 to 1982.

Other Guitars: on the "Supersonic" single sleeve there are two guitars that Noel may have used in the studio but not live - a Gibson ES-335 (red) and a Rickenbacker Jetglo, either the 330 Jetgloor the 360 model.

Noel Gallagher has always loved Semi-Acoustic guitars, throughout his career, and altough he's used many other types of guitar, we can safely say semi-acoustics represent the quintessential Oasis sound, thanks to their warm, full-bodied tone.

If you're on a budget, try the Tanglewood TH502 - unbeatable value for money, truly excellent guitars. Again, they are as good as Epiphones.

His main amp appears to be a Marshall Stack then - Marshall JCM 900 100 watt head w/1960A & 1960B 4x12 cabinets.

FX Pedals:

By the end of 1994/ early 1995 (Live By The Sea DVD) Noel Gallagher's pedalboard definitely had the following pedals:

Vox V847 Wah
Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer (classic! For a cheap alternative, try the TS-7 Tubescreamer - very good!)
Boss DD-3 Delay

Some say he also had a Boss CS-3 Compressor and a Boss SD-2 Dual Overdrive. One of Noel's favourite tricks was to use lots of delay and scratch his guitar strings with a metal slide...definitely one of the most fun things a guitarist can do onstage!

Some reports suggest that Noel only used the Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer for solos, relying on the Marshall distortion.

THE BIG TIME - What's The Story (Morning Glory) To Knebworth, 1995-1996:

Noel's setup changed little during this time, still sticking to his favourite guitars, amps and FX pedals from the previous tours. One notable addition to his pedalboard was a classic Boss PH-3 phaser pedal used for some psychedelic swirly sounds during live "jams" such as "I Am The Walrus" on the "There And Then" DVD.

In a promo photo released during the recording of "Some Might Say", Noel is seen holding a Gibson Non-Reverse Firebird, awith an Orange stack in the background.

According to some sources Noel used 2 Orange Overdrive 120 heads w/2 4x12 cabinets, but a Marshall Stack was still a favourite.

On the credits of "What's The Story (Morning Glory)" it also says that Noel used an e-bow.

And then there was...MAINE ROAD!

It was at Maine Road that Noel Gallagher debuted his most iconic guitar - the Epiphone Sheraton Union Jack

Some might say it's a Epiphone Riviera, but they are wrong...the headstock gives the clue: it's a 60's Epiphone Sheraton alright. Unlike the new Sheratons, the 60s version looked very similar to the 60's (and to the most recent) Riviera, as both featured frequensator tailpiece and mini-humbuckers. It was a present from then girlfriend Meg Matthews, and customized by a London luthier.

Maybe most of you realize this, but some might not: It's worth noting that Noel Gallagher's signature guitar, the Epiphone Supernova, is an entirely different thing from the Union Jack guitar he played at Maine Road, and we've found no evidence he's ever played it. He just posed with it. The guitar - excellent as it is, by all accounts - is just an expensive piece of merchandise...and quite different than the original Union Jack guitar: the Supernova has stoptail bridge and humbuckers, as opposed to frequensator and mini-humbuckers, making it closer to the Epiphone Sheraton II or the 70s Epiphone Riviera.

The 60's Epiphone Sheraton quickly became one of Noel's favourite guitars, and could be seen at several gigs - not the Union Jack, but a sunburst model

Sadly discontinued, the Epiphone John Lee Hooker Signature Sheraton I (not the commonly found Sheraton II) looked exactly like Noel's. Some sites say Noel Gallagher played one - he might, but not before 2000, when the guitar was released. So the guitar we see him playing at 1996 gigs - including Knebworth - must be an older model.

FROM THE BE HERE NOW "WILDERNESS YEARS" to FAMILIAR TO MILLIONS (2000):

Where Did It All Go Wrong? After the halcyon days of Knebworth, all of a sudden Oasis were not cool anymore in the eyes of many, despite their still huge popularity, and one of the reasons was "Be Here Now", the drug-fuelled Britpop opus and nail in its coffin.

But, on a guitar point of view, no one can complain - Noel Gallagher sounded wilder and louder than ever!

He was using some fuzz pedal for the first time, a Coloursound Tone Bender. The Coloursound myspace page lists him as one of the clients. Great pedal, dearly priced. (For cheaper options, the Boss FZ-5 and the Electro-Harmonix Double Muff are great for vintage gritty tones like the Tone Bender)

He still used his Epi Sheraton a lot, but during the "Be Here Now" tour his main guitar seemed to be the Gibson Silver Florentine (Les Paul Semi-Acoustic):

Of course, he famously appeared with a Gibson Flying V on the "Do Y'r Know What I Mean" video, and posed with a Blue Fender Jaguar, but posterity has not registered whether he played them on records or gigs:

AND THEN COMES "Go Let It Out" and "Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants" (2000) and here's a very accurate list of pedals Noel Gallagher used, in the Jools Holland Oasis special, in 2000 on BBC:

The Hughes & Kettner pedal is an excellent "Leslie Speaker" simulator, used in tracks such as "Who feels Love?"

Noel Gallagher also began using Rickenbacker guitars...including a white Rickenbacker 330 which used to belong to Paul Weller, and used when The Jam performed "Beat Surrender" on Top Of The Pops! Weller is a good friend of Noel and gave the guitar as a present.

But his main Rickenbacker was a 330 Mapleglo...beautiful guitar...used for "Go Let It Out" and "Who Feels Love":

FROM 2000 TO NOW - NOEL GALLAGHER'S CURRENT SETUP:

Guitar-wise, Noels current favourite is a Gibson ES-355 with Bigsby, in Cherry. This is NOT an ES-345 as reported in some sites. However...Noel also has a Gibson ES-345! But it's a non-bigsby model, also in cherry

Also, another favourite guitar is the Gibson Trini Lopez, as seen on the video for "Lyla".

Noel also uses the El Dorado guitar straps.

He can also be seen with a Les Paul, as well as the occasional Telecaster. And here' sa few pics for you:

His pedalboard/rack / amps have ballooned so much, it's quite hard to keep track of what's his current gear and how it all works! We managed to find info on two similar but different recent setups, which as far as we can see are almost 100% accurate!

One surprising thing is that his main amp now is the little (but great) Fender Blues Junior!

We can see (almost) clearly that he now uses a Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Wah, still uses an TS-9 Tubescreamer, has a Danelectro Dan-Echo delay, a discontinued Boss PN-2 tremolo/pan, and still used the LS-2, Echodrive and Rotosphere pedals. According to the scheme, the LS-2 is used to bypass a Line 6 rack delay, which can indeed be seen in the pictures.

The other rack-mounted gear include a Korg DTR-1 Tuner (now surpassed by the DTR-1000), TC Electronics 2290 delay, compressor, Furman PL8 Power Supply, signal splitter and noise redction boxes...

His main amp sound are 2 Blues Jrs run through THD Hotplates into Marshall 4x12s (with Celestion G-12's) There are two heads too: a vintage Vox AC-50 head, and also an Orange head...some mention OTR-120 but could also be a different Orange one. Other amps mentioned as being used by Noel are Clark Beaufort Combo and Clark Tyger Combo, but we found no more details about it, so we're not sure!

So far so good, but we found more recent (2007) pictures which seem to update the info above a bit!

Huge new Pedalboard, maybe some MIDI controls for the racks as well? Who knows. Between the TS-9 and the Wah there's a new pedal, dark purple, which fits with the boutique Analogman King Of Tone. According to their website "In spring 2004 Noel Gallagher from Oasis got one and is using it a lot along with his mini bicomp and Boss DD-6 with high cut mod". We can see that the Dan-Echo is gone and there's a Boss delay there...so it must be the Boss DD-6 as mentioned by Analog Man!

Like Gem Archer, now Noel uses a Line 6 DL-4 pedal, widely regarded as the best delay available, used by 9 out of 10 rock stars, apparently!

The SIB Echodrive, Boss PN-2 and LS-2 Line Selector remain.

We can't see them on the photographs, but some sites state that Noel has purcahsed the Crowther Hotcake pedal and the Pete Cornish SS2. The Pete Cornish website states that Noel purchased a custom SS2 fuzz pedal in 2005...

As for his amps...the setup is almost the same...except there's no Orange head to be seen, just one Blues Junior, a Fender head into a Fender Cab (on top of a Marshall cab). There's also a Line 6 Pod Pro (now surpassed by the Pod XT Pro model)

Getting The Noel Gallaghet Current Tone:

Getting a basic Noel-like setup won't be that expensive, really. Go for a Fender Blues Junior, into aMarshall MG412 cab, which is not as good as the more expensive Marshall cabs, but should do the Job if you want to keep things cheap - this setup would cost just a bit more than a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, for instance! The Blues Junior is a fantastic little amp, especially when you select the "fat" mode - nice crunchy tube tone...into a cab, it usually sounds amazing.

So do that, and get some of the usual Noel Gallagher pedals...starting with the TS-9 Tubescreamer, of course, and use a semi-acoustic guitar. Way to go!

We decided to leave them for the end. As a typical singer-songwriter, Noel is never far apart from a good acoustic guitar. His favourite is and will always be an Epiphone EJ-200 or, as of late, the Gibson J-200, both sunburst...as you can see in several photos.

A "Guitar Player Blog" reader, Lloyd, got in touch with us, with some first hand info we'd like to share with you. A friend managed to get some really good pics of Noel's and Gem's pedalbaords. And here's what could be seen. Thank you for the info, Lloyd!

"I am having a litlle bit of trouble making a copy of the photographs at the minute, from the images i can see that noel has:

Boss Chromatic tuner, Dunlop Cry Baby Wah, Mr. Echo stomp box (the first one, not the mr. echo plus!),Tubescreamer TS-9, The Boss DD-3 delay pedal...well, he has 3 of them in his current set-up!!! There is a stomp box that was made up by his head roadie and guitar-tech Jason Rhodes for which i have no idea of its purpose, Boss PN-2 Trem/pan, LS-2 Echodrive, There is one more pedal that i dont know what it is, its a grey pedal with a similiar shape to the boss pedals but with a more rounded front. The pictures were taken just after a soundcheck whilst onstage, positioned in-between the two floor monitors is another Echodrive which is not connected up at all, however i have been informed that he does sometimes use them both. There is no sign at all of a line selector however the way the system has been set up neither Noel or Gem actually press the actual pedals there are small rounded chrome buttons each lebelled with the type of effect that it is connected up to, so there may be a line selector especially built in to the system. Gem has:Boss Chromatic tuner, Vox Wah-Wah, Pro-Co Rat Distortion Pedal, Boss Tremolo TR-2, Boss DD-3 delay, Boss RV-3 digital reverb/delay (now Boss RV-5) Boss AC-2 acoustic simulator (now replaced by theBoss AC-3) Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler, I hope that this email has been a lot of help to you and wish you all the best with your site, if you ever need anymore help or info jus drop us an email."

The Boss PN-2 Tremolo/ Pan is a classic and quite collectible pedal, also used by people such as Graham Coxon (Blur) and Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine). You can still find it on eBay if you're lucky, or, if you want to save some bucks, you could get the Behringer copy, the TP300 Ultra Tremolo/ Pan. Either way - you'll need two amps to mak ethe most out of it.

Other Gear:

According to some websites, Noel uses Shure Beta 57A mics for his vocals, Ernie Balls 46-10 strings, and Dunlop .88mm picks.

The most recent studio photograph of Oasis (shot during the recording of "Dig Out Your Soul") appears to show an old Boss CE-1 Chorus somewhere, too...but we couldn't see clearly what was most of the gear, apart from the usual Vox Amps (AC50?), Line 6 DL4...

New Info! Some pics seem to reveal that Noel is using Hiwatt speaker cabs with his Fender Blues Junior, now!

By the looks of it, he's using two Hiwatt bass cabs - looks like the Hiwatt Celestion Loaded 4x10" + 1x15" Cab. If that's right - pretty cool choice!

Since its going to be the next single I figured I would break down the lyrics. I took a few key lines and explained them the best I could!

Sweet Cadaques to Figueres a 40 minute ride
Cadaques is a small town on Spain's Coasta Brava on the Mediterranean Sea. Read about it here.

This song is about Salvador Dali, no two ways about it. Figueres is his birthplace and home of the Salvador Dali museum. Cadaques is where he had homes, including a castle for he built for his wife.

This painting by Dali is called "Premonition of Civil War". It was a statement against the Spanish Civil War in 1936.

"The artist's savage vision of his country as a decomposing figure tearing itself apart preceded the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War and thus prophetically foretold the atrocities committed during this bloody conflict." from Philadelphia Art Museum where painting now resides.

The above statement makes Millionaire's chorus very clear. Dali and Andy Bell are saying "Hey love me/treat me like you would a Millionaire, there is no difference, you are me, I am you" In Dali's case a fellow Spaniards, or Andy, a fellow human being.

This is a hard lyric I am thinking Andy is referring to Pubol the Gala-Dali' Castle. Dali's wife died here in 1982, leaving Dali devastated. You can take a virtual tour here.

I found this on this site and I think it sums up Dali's essence and the essence of this song;

"Despite the painter’s later international fame, Dali always saw himself as Catalan, and maintained some of the uncomplicated, down-to-earth views of that people throughout his life. This is typified in the recurring theme of food in his work, both as a subject and as inspiration."
